is made up of community leaders who are knowledgeable in local politics and particularly the politics of the precincts in which they live. These people are known as precinct captains and have been duly elected to fill those positions for 4 years. Appointed precinct captains are chosen to fill those precincts that are not filled and are revisited yearly until the presidential election year. All precincts are gender balanced (One man and one woman are elected as precinct captains in each precinct). There is no fee involved in becoming a precinct captain, but there is work and responsibility and you must be a registered Democrat in Martin County to be a member. The Martin County Democrats are proud of each and every member of the DEC.
Precinct Committee Person Form must be files with SOE by June 20.
