Letter From a Republican to His Friends:
My Fellow Republicans,
Oh No! It can't be!
He has been my congressman for 11 years.
He has headed up legislation to protect children from pedophiles using the Internet for evil deeds.
And now my congressman has resigned because he is an Internet pedophile and has gotten caught!
How could he do such a thing....letting himself get caught like that.
Republicans are not supposed to get caught, and if they do, they cover it up.
What happened?
The Republican run Congressional Ethics Committee looked into my congressman's pedophile activities a year ago and we all thought it had been swept under the rug.
This is all Clinton's fault!
It is his fault that upstanding Republicans are getting caught for ethical and criminal activities.
I just don't know what to do.
Why didn't he "Stay the Course" and fight this thing?
Republicans always "Stay the Course".
I am just crushed.
I am so humiliated that my congressman got caught, I don't think I will be able to drag myself to the ballot box in November!
Only one thing to do now to restore our honor....Mark Foley for pResident!
Online Comments About Foley's Folly Resignation Story:
Campaign slogan: "Send Negron to Congress. Vote for a Sexual Predator."
GOP Press release: "They are fighting the Pedophiles in Washington so we don't have to fight them over here."
If Osama bin Laden were an underage teen boy, the Republicans would have found him long ago!
Whitehouse Pages hate our freedom!!!!
In the same week you have local priests behaving like politicians and a politician trying to emulate priests.
Hastert is Cardinal Law to Priest Foley
Characterizing this Congress as a "do nothing Congress" is giving them too much credit. After disgracing our country with a debate about how much torture is OK, we find out that GOP leaders in the House have been running a Pedophile Protection Program on Capital Hill.
How ironic that the same Republicans who looked to crucify the Clintons are now faced with mounting scandals of their own. Want to try rocks at someone else, make sure your windows are covered.
New Democratic campaign slogan- "It's the cover-up stupid!"
Oh my, "What do we tell the children?"
Congressman Foley just stated on national TV that he mistakenly thought that AOL IM stood for the Improper Molestation hotline and was startled and highly irritated that the government was "spying on him". His apparent lack of understanding of technology was only further displayed when he stated he had used a secret sign-on "maf54", his initials and waist size, and still can't figure out how he was discovered. Foley stands by his previous contention that "dictating" White House Pages has always been considered one of the few perks allowed government employees and has asked for his many supports to contribute to his defense fund at his website.
Oh...what a nice surprise...does this mean that Mr. Foley is, God forbid, G.A.Y. ? Oh, my goodness. That is just faabbbuloussssss! I think he is such a doll. But I guess, being over 18 I am just way too old for him...Darn. What a shame.! ...If only I was 16 again...!!
Family values! Squaawwwk! Family values! Squaawwwk! Family values!
Well at least now I know why I have never received a response from him to any of the E-mails that I have sent over the years.. I was beginning to think my writing style was not getting my point across, but now I know... I didn't get a response be cause I was not a 16 year old boy.
"Who does Joe Negron stand up for - Mark Foley and the Republican House leadership or under-age children?"
Foley picking up boys on the Internet? Clearly the Dems fault...Al Gore shame on you for inventing that darn Internet.
The minority party lives in the bedroom, the majority party lives in the closet.
Investigating Foley's folly ain't something congress should be wasting taxpayer money on. The Catholic church is better qualified...
Is it Evolution or Intelligent Design? GOP: Grand Old Party -> Gas and Oil Party -> Gay Ole Pedophiles.
09/29/06 TruthDig -- -- AUSTIN, Texas-Oh dear. I'm sure he didn't mean it. In Illinois' Sixth Congressional District, long represented by Henry Hyde, Republican candidate Peter Roskam accused his Democratic opponent, Tammy Duckworth, of planning to "cut and run" on Iraq.
Duckworth is a former Army major and chopper pilot who lost both legs in Iraq after her helicopter got hit by an RPG. "I just could not believe he would say that to me," said Duckworth, who walks on artificial legs and uses a cane. Every election cycle produces some wincers, but how do you apologize for that one?
