HOBE SOUND RALLY A SUCCESS!!
 The outside of the HSCC was adorned with balloons, flags, and banners.
"Meet the Candidates", our South County Rally held on Thursday, March 16 has been deemed a success by Dave Dew, Chair of the DEC. A crowd of 80 fit comfortably in the Hobe Sound Community Center to hear candidates and candidate representatives speak about the issues and answer questions from the audience.

Dave Dew, master of ceremonies, interspersed anecdotes from the Al Gore rally the previous Sunday with pleas to the crowd to sign up as volunteers.

Odaly Victorio from the St Lucie County DEC spoke eloquently for Senator Nelson; Gubernatorial candidate Rod Smith's wife DeeDee spoke on his behalf; Jim Davis, also running for governor, was represented by his campaign manager Michelle Mayorga ; Tim Mahoney, running to unseat Mark Foley for US Congress District 16 captivated the crowd; and Catherine Hilton introduced herself as a candidate for State House District 82.

 Our volunteer crew transformed the community center with patriotic decorations.
The rally was our first opportunity to crank up the autodialer. Its message in combination with the rally has netted the Martin County Democratic Party 38 new volunteers!!
 DJ Tom Kenyon revved up the crowd with a variety of music.
 Lunch with DeeDee : State House candidate Catherine Hilton and DEC Chair Dave Dew joined DeeDee Smith for lunch at the Ashley.
